Fire & Explosion Investigations
We have investigated fires involving wind turbines, electrical substations, solid fuel stoves, flues, self-heating, hot works, appliances, boilers, batteries, vehicles, electrical installations and other types of fire causation, including deliberate. We have investigated explosions attributed to escapes of both natural gas and LPG (liquid petroleum gas). We also have experience of incidents involving boiling liquid expanding vapor explosions (BLEVE’s) related to pressure vessels and containers.
Before the cause of a fire or explosion can be accurately determined, its origin must be established. Once we have been instructed, we immediately start to gather information relevant to the claim/incident. The background and circumstances of an incident help support any factual evidence available. Our reports include background research on past and historical issues that may be relevant to the incident being investigated.
We attend the location of the property damage, if required, as soon as practically possible. Following our scene inspection, joint examination or desktop case review, we provide expert opinion and a comprehensive report. Subsequent reports may be required depending on the nature of the case.
