An incident that has caused property damage or personal injury may be attributed to either a mechanical or an electrical failure. Mechanical failures of pipework and/or fittings can cause property damage by allowing fluids, such as water or oil, to escape. Escapes of gas can lead to explosions, and electrical failures can lead to fire due to a number of different failure mechanisms.
We have particular expertise investigating escapes of water, oil and other liquids. We undertake extensive background research with particular emphasis on product recalls including any past issues regarding appliances, equipment or individual components.
Our professional and practical experience enables us to identify substandard workmanship and breaches of the building regulations or construction standards. There may also be issues as to how a system has been designed, potential manufacturing defects or the implementation of any relevant maintenance schedules.
